Maxwell International

Use Maxwell Directory from your AI app

Maxwell Directory is an MCP server: your AI assistant can find local providers worldwide (instructors, tradespeople, places to eat and stay and more, listed by the providers themselves), plus ski trips, lift-ticket prices, menus near resorts, and company, legal and FDA records, and pay only for the answers it uses.

Server URL: https://api.maxwellinternational.ai/mcp

Free tools work in every app: list_products, get_price_quote, service_terms, ski_coverage, trip_map, food_coverage, llm_models. Paid tools cost from $0.002 per call in USDC (Base or Solana) and need an app that can pay with x402: use the wallet option below, or your own code. Calls that find nothing are not charged.

The easy way to pay: a Coinbase wallet, no keys

Works in Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI. You never handle a private key: Coinbase holds a wallet for you (sign in with your email), you set the limits, and your assistant pays Maxwell from it, a few tenths of a cent per answer.

  1. Install the Coinbase wallet for AI. In a terminal run
    npx @coinbase/payments-mcp
    and follow its prompts; it adds itself to your AI app.
  2. Sign in with your email (a one-time code; no Coinbase account needed) and add a few dollars of USDC with a card or Apple Pay.
  3. Set your limits in the Coinbase wallet screen, for example $0.05 per call and $1 per session. Your assistant cannot change them.
  4. Add Maxwell with one of the buttons below (or paste the server URL). When an answer costs money, Maxwell gives your assistant the exact request and price, and the Coinbase wallet pays it.

You are charged only when data comes back; searches that find nothing are free. Claude on the web and on phones, and ChatGPT, can use the free tools and quotes today; paying from them is coming.

Claude Desktop

Download the extension

Download for Claude Desktop

Open the file to install. Claude Desktop then asks for your spend limits and, if you want it to pay by itself, a small wallet key file. Leave the wallet empty to pay with the Coinbase wallet above instead.

One click

The badge adds our hosted server: instant, no setup, free tools and exact quotes. The wallet version installs the npm package @maxwellintl/x402-mcp on your computer; once you point it at a small wallet (MAXWELL_WALLET_KEY_FILE, see below) it can also buy paid answers, within your caps.

Pay from your own wallet

To use paid tools in Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, Claude Code and similar apps, run the local server with a small, dedicated wallet (a few dollars of USDC on Base or Solana, never your main wallet). The key stays on your computer; every call is capped ($0.05 per call, $1 per session, $2 per day by default) and asks you before anything above the cap.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "maxwell": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@maxwellintl/x402-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "MAXWELL_WALLET_KEY_FILE": "/path/to/base-wallet.key"
      }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code:

claude mcp add maxwell -e MAXWELL_WALLET_KEY_FILE=/path/to/base-wallet.key -- npx -y @maxwellintl/x402-mcp

Solana: set MAXWELL_SOLANA_KEY_FILE instead (or as well, with MAXWELL_NETWORK=solana to prefer it). All settings: package page.
